- The root hairs and root caps both support the structure for the plant while the seed is sprouting.
- In the ovary, the sperm and egg help fertilize the flower.
- Both the xylem and phloem help transport materials throughout the plant. The xylem transports the material to the roots and the phloem transports the material up the plant. For this to occur the cambium produces both of these vascular tissues.
- The anther and filament are both parts of the male structure of the plant, the stamen. The filament supports the anther as it produces pollen.
- The petal and sepal both contribute when the plant is becoming a flower.
- The stigma, style, and ovary are parts of the female structure of the plant, the pistil. The stigma collects pollen grains with its sticky top and the style transfers the pollen grains to the ovary.
